About Us

“MANY NATIONS WILL COME AND SAY, ‘COME AND LET US GO UP TO THE MOUNTAIN OF THE LORD AND TO THE HOUSE OF THE GOD OF JACOB, THAT HE MAY TEACH US ABOUT HIS WAYS AND THAT WE MAY WALK IN HIS PATHS.”   ISAIAH 2:2-3

Christ’s Kingdom – Jesus said the “Kingdom of Heaven is within you”. At Antioch Church we are committed to discovering God’s way of doing things. We desire that Christ’s eternal Kingdom of righteousness, peace, and joy would daily be manifested in our lives.

Church is People – Jesus said that he came to “Seek and Save that which was lost” and that he came “that not one should perish but ALL could experience everlasting life”. We strive to be welcoming, friendly, and accepting of others—as Christ is to us. This Value, however, is not an end in and of itself. It leads to the development of a community that is one in Christ.

Investing in God’s Work – At Antioch Church we understand that every good and perfect gift comes from God, and God has called us to be good stewards of His resources. Therefore we invest our time, our talents, and our money in things that matter to God. We practice and encourage financially responsible living and generous giving out of our desire to be wise stewards of God’s resources.

Serving with Excellence – In everything we do at Antioch Church, we strive to do it all for the glory of God. We believe that God deserves our best effort and emphasize serving each other and our community with excellence. We are intentional about getting outside the four walls of the church and sharing the love of Jesus with our world.

What We Believe

WE BELIEVE THE BIBLE IS THE INSPIRED AND ONLY INFALLIBLE AND AUTHORITATIVE WRITTEN WORD OF GOD.

WE BELIEVE THERE IS ONE GOD, ETERNALLY EXISTENT IN THREE PERSONS: GOD THE FATHER, GOD THE SON, AND GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT.

WE BELIEVE IN THE DEITY OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST, IN HIS VIRGIN BIRTH, IN HIS SINLESS LIFE, IN HIS MIRACLES, IN HIS VICARIOUS AND ATONING DEATH, IN HIS BODILY RESURRECTION, IN HIS ASCENSION TO THE RIGHT HAND OF THE FATHER, AND IN HIS PERSONAL FUTURE RETURN TO THIS EARTH IN POWER AND GLORY TO RULE A THOUSAND YEARS.

WE BELIEVE REGENERATION BY THE HOLY SPIRIT IS ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL FOR PERSONAL SALVATION.
WE BELIEVE THE ONLY MEANS OF BEING CLEANSED FROM SIN IS THROUGH REPENTANCE AND FAITH IN THE PRECIOUS BLOOD OF CHRIST.

WE BELIEVE IN WATER BAPTISM BY IMMERSION.
WE BELIEVE THE REDEMPTIVE WORK OF CHRIST ON THE CROSS PROVIDES HEALING OF THE HUMAN BODY IN ANSWER TO BELIEVING PRAYER.

WE BELIEVE THE BAPTISM IN THE HOLY SPIRIT, ACCORDING TO ACTS 2:4, IS GIVEN TO BELIEVERS WHO ASK FOR IT.

WE BELIEVE IN THE SANCTIFYING POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT BY WHOSE INDWELLING THE CHRISTIAN IS ENABLED TO LIVE A HOLY LIFE.

WE BELIEVE IN ABUNDANT LIFE THROUGH JESUS CHRIST AND RESPONSIBILITY OF ALL BELIEVERS TO DELIVER THE MESSAGE OF RECONCILIATION TO ALL PEOPLES.

WE BELIEVE IN THE RESURRECTION OF THE DEAD AND THE ETERNAL JUDGEMENT OF ALL PEOPLE.

Our History

ANTIOCH CHURCH: ESTABLISHED 1949

The first documented church services in the vicinity where the church stands today were held at the Antioch District School House built in the early 1800’s. The Antioch School House was located just off highway 221 on the east side of the road, in the Polo Township of Carroll County Arkansas. It was at the second Antioch School House where the people who congregated for Sunday services made the decision in 1949 to build the First Antioch Church House, which opened in early 1950.

In the latter part of August 1949 deeds were made by Raymond & Ruby Williams donating the land to build the First Antioch Church, located just north of the District School House on Highway 221. Building materials were donated, the County Land Commissioner sent a dozer to push the trees from the land. The road maintenance crew graded the building site. Trees were cut, hauled to the mill, and made into lumber for framing. Clay blocks were hauled from Tulsa, Oklahoma. Hours of hard work saw the completion. The first service was held in March of 1950.

Reverend Wilson Henegar was preaching at the District School House while the church was being built. He became the first pastor of the Antioch Church in 1950.
